H1N1 Influenza Information
There is currently a world pandemic of the H1N1 Virus. This is an influenza virus.
It is very contagious and can make you ill. A free vaccination for H1N1 is available
at Polk County Health Department Monday – Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. H1N1 can spread
when an infected person coughs and sneezes and spreads germs through the air or
onto surfaces that other people may touch. H1N1 virus is not transmitted by eating
pork products. The information below will help you learn how to avoid getting sick
and how to prevent any further spread of the disease.
