FIVE-DAY PLAN FOR DISASTER PREPAREDNESS |

Below is a five-day plan to get yourself and your household prepared for a disaster. Each day's
activities are designed so that you can easily complete them. Please complete all steps for each
day.

DAY 1 |
|
Day 1: Today you will become more prepared than yesterday. Today’s activities are completing easy
emergency contact forms and putting ICE in your phone. Below are the forms you need. Upon
completion, place them in your Disaster Readiness Binder.

DAY 2 |
|
Day 2: Personal medical checklist and family communication plan. You are better prepared today than
yesterday. Place your completed copies in your Disaster Readiness Binder.

DAY 3 |
|
Day 3: Weather-related emergencies. I am better prepared today than yesterday! Do you have a working
flashlight in your home and car that is in an easily identifiable place? Today's activity is to make
sure you have a working flashlight in your house and car.

DAY 4 |
|
Day 4: First Aid. I am better prepared today than yesterday! If you have a kit, locate it and check
supplies for outdated supplies and medicines. If you do not have a kit, go to a discount store or retail
pharmacy and get one for your home.

DAY 5 |
|
Day 5: Emergency Checklist and Drill Scenarios. I am better prepared today than yesterday! Today's
activity is to practice a drill with members of your household.

|
Here are additional materials for you to read. They include information about weather-related emergencies,
special instructions for persons with disabilities, pet safety, as well as a variety of checklists to help
you become even more prepared.
