Tasha Scott was sentenced in Polk County Criminal Number FECR219929 to an indeterminate term of incarceration not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver - "Crack" Cocaine and to an indeterminate term of incarceration not to exceed 5 years for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver - Marijuana. On August 25th, 2008, the defendant came before the Court for sentencing. The Court granted her a deferred judgment and probation with the applicable $1,000.00 civil penalty. On August 25th, 2008, this case came before the Court for sentencing. The State of Iowa argued for a 5 year suspended sentence and probation. The defendant had 12 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of his car and $30,000.00 in case stashed inside the passenger compartment. The defense argued for a deferred judgment and probation. The Court granted him a deferred judgment and probation because of his lack of a criminal history. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
Rebecca Garner, in criminal case no. FECR208586, stipulated to the violation of her probation. Her probation was revoked and she was sentenced to a period of imprisonment not to exceed five (5) years for the crimes of Forgery and Identity Theft.
Angela Ruby, FECR220459, stipulated to the violation of her probation. Ms. Ruby was ordered to serve 20 days in jail for contempt of court. The defendant was also ordered to be evaluated for substance abuse and to complete any recommended treatment.
Christopher Martinez, FECR219035, was sentenced for the crime of Burglary in the Second Degree. The defendant was placed on intensive supervision probation for a period of two (2) years and ordered to enter the men’s residential facility at Fort Des Moines. The defendant was also ordered to attend and complete management classes and after care.
Corsheatia Lomax, FECR220030, was sentenced to a period of incarceration not to exceed five (5) years for the crime of Identity Theft. The sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation for a period of two (2) years. She was also ordered to complete any and all programs required by her probation officer.
Roy Kline III pled guilty to Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance in Polk County Criminal case number FECR218137. The Court imposed a ten year prison sentence, suspended the sentence, and placed the defendant on probation for a period of two years. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney's Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On July 11th, 2008, Brian Dean Metten, FECR219973, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver-marijuana, as alleged in Count I of the Trial Information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)(d), a Class D Felony without the firearm enhancement. On August 26th, 2008 he came before the Court for sentencing. Both parties recommended a 5 year suspended sentence and probation. The Court sentenced him to 5 years in prison, but suspended the sentence and placed him on probation for two years with the applicable $750.00 fine. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
A Polk County jury found defendants Johnny White and Andrew Roby guilty of the crime of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance-Cocaine Base Crack, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)(c)(3), a Class C Felony. The trial was before Judge Nickerson. The defendants will be sentenced on September 30, 2008. The defendants were prosecuted by the Drug and Gang Bureau.

Mary Sibley pled guilty to Failure to Possess a Tax Stamp in Polk County Criminal case number FECR219511, a class D felony. The Court deferred judgment and placed the defendant on probation for a period of two years. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney's Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
Rocky Matherly appeared before the court on allegations that he violated the terms of his probation. He agreed that he had and was sentenced to a period not to exceed five years in prison.
Ramon Ortiz plead guilty to Eluding and further agreed that he was in violation of his probation. He was sentenced to a period not to exceed four years in prison.
On July 2, 2008, Kent Even Yates, FECR219494, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver-marijuana, as alleged in Count II of the Trial Information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)(d), a Class D Felony without the firearm enhancement. On August 27th, 2008, he came before the Court for sentencing. Both the State and Defense had reached an agreement at the time of the guilty plea to jointly recommend a 5 year prison sentence at the time of sentencing. The Court sentenced the defendant to 5 years in prison. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
On July 2, 2008, Charles Junior Yates, FECR219482, pled guilty to Control Over a Firearm as a Convicted Felon, as alleged in Count IV of the Trial Information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 724.26, a Class D Felony. On August 27th, 2008, he came before the Court for sentencing. The Court sentenced him to 5 years in prison, but suspended the sentence and placed him on probation for two years with the applicable $750.00 fine. Jeffrey Wiese was sentenced for the crimes of Conspiracy to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine, a Class C felony, and Possession of Ephederine or Pseudoephedrine With Intent It Be Used to Manufacture a Controlled Substance, in case FECR218955. He was sentenced to a maximum indeterminate term of ten (10) years in Count I and five (5) years in Count II and these sentences were ordered to be served consecutive to each other for a total of twenty (20) years. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

Renard Andrews was sentenced in Polk County Criminal Number FECR215901 to an indeterminate term of incarceration not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver - "Crack" Cocaine, to an indeterminate term of incarceration not to exceed 5 years for the crime of Failure to Possess a Tax Stamp, and to 180 days for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana. Over the State’s objection and notwithstanding the fact that the defendant took no responsibility for his actions and had previously absconded from an earlier probation, the Court again granted Renard Andrews a suspended sentence and placed him on probation for a period of 2 years. A Polk County jury had previously found the defendant guilty. The defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
Sierrah Kittrell appeared in Polk County District Court in Polk County Criminal Number FE 217024 regarding allegations that she violated terms of probation earlier granted her. Kittrell had received a deferred judgment and been placed on probation for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine base “crack”) With Intent to Deliver in June of 2008. Kittrell admitted she violated the terms of he probation, but the court did not revoke her deferred judgment or probation but rather added a condition that Kittrell be assigned to the Women’s Residential Correctional Facility. Kittrell was to be released from custody under electronic monitoring upon availability. Kittrell was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
