WEEKLY CASE SUMMARY
10/27/2008 Delynn Gregory was sentenced for the crimes of Delivery of a Controlled Substance, cocaine and marijuana, four counts, 2 Class C felonies and two Class D felonies, and Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver, marijuana, a Class D felony, in case numbers FECR220542. Gregory was sentenced to a term of incarceration of ten (10) years on each Class C felony and five (5) years on each Class D felony. The ten (10) year sentences were run consecutive to each other and the five (5) year sentences were run concurrent to each other for a total sentence of twenty (20) years, but these sentences were suspended and he was placed on probation for a term of two (2) years. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

10/28/2008 On September 23rd, 2008, Volin Keith Williams, FECR221448, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver-marijuana, as alleged in Count I of the Trial Information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)(d), a Class D Felony, without the firearm enhancement. On October 28th, 2008, he came before the Court for sentencing. The Court granted him a five year suspended sentence and probation with 100 hours of community service in lieu of the applicable $750.00 fine. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

Jim Saengaroun pled guilty to Failure to Appear and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Accommodation) in Polk County Criminal case number FECR215088. The State requested prison for the defendant as he had failed to appear for eight months and had previously been granted probation for a charge of Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon. The Court, however, granted the defendant a suspended sentence and probation. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney's Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
