On January 17, 2012, Brandon Gooden was sentenced to prison in Polk County Criminal Number FECR249738 for a period not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Morphine) and for a period not to exceed 5 years for the crime of Failure to Possess a Tax Stamp. The Court ordered the sentences to be served consecutively. A Polk County jury had previously found the defendant guilty of the above offenses. The defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On January 17, 2012, Konekeo Malavong was sentenced in Polk County Criminal Number FECR246148 to an indeterminate term of incarceration not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and to an indeterminate term of incarceration not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine). The Court ordered the sentences to be served consecutively. The Court granted Konekeo Malavong a suspended sentence and placed him on probation for a period of two years. The defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On January 18, 2012, Danielle Patterson was sentenced for the crime of Theft in the First Degree, a Class C felony, in case number FECR247916. She was sentenced to a maximum indeterminate term of ten (10) years in prison. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On January 18, 2012, Kari Crooks pled guilty in Polk County Criminal Number FECR247976 to the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Cocaine Base "Crack"). Sentencing was set for a later date. The defendant is being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

Patrick Case Jr. appeared for arraignment on a charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm in Polk County Criminal case number FECR252033. He entered a plea of not guilty and a pretrial conference and trial date were scheduled.

Robert Tilley appeared for arraignment on a charge of Theft in the Second Degree in Polk County Criminal case number FECR252036. He entered a plea of not guilty and a pretrial conference and trial date were scheduled.

Tammy Ellis appeared for arraignment on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Failure to Possess a Tax Stamp, and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Polk County Criminal case number FECR252345. She entered a plea of not guilty and a pretrial conference and trial date were scheduled.

Chad Sepich appeared for arraignment on a charge of Willful Injury in Polk County Criminal case number FECR252110. He entered a plea of not guilty and a pretrial conference and trial date were scheduled.

Bradley Langford appeared for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to Burglary in the Third Degree in Polk County Criminal case number FECR249651. The Court imposed a five year prison sentence, suspended that sentence and placed the defendant on probation for two years.

Ryan Patton-Stewart appeared for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to Burglary in the Second Degree in Polk County Criminal case number FECR249290. The Court imposed a ten years prison sentence, suspended that sentence and placed the defendant on probation for three years.

Jacob Larsen appeared for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to Theft in the Third Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Polk County Criminal case numbers FECR245934 and SRCR246057. The Court deferred judgment and placed the defendant on probation for two years.

Kirby Small appeared for a probation violation hearing in Polk County Criminal case number FECR230834. The defendant stipulated that he violated terms and conditions of his probation. The Court held him in contempt, ordered him to served ten days in jail, and unsuccessfully discharged him from probation.

Corey Moore appeared for a probation violation hearing in Polk County Criminal case number FECR218915. The defendant stipulated that he violated terms and conditions of his probation. The Court revoked his probation and imposed the original prison sentence.

Khalil Harris appeared for a probation violation hearing in Polk County Criminal case number FECR248275. The defendant stipulated that he violated terms and conditions of his probation. The Court scheduled a hearing to determine disposition of his probation for February 14, 2012.

David Charles Williams Jr was granted a Deferred Judgment on the charge of Theft 2nd Degree in FE249502. He will be on probation for two (2) years.

Tamera Jo Walker was granted probation in FE246597 on the charge of Theft 2nd Degree as a habitual offender. Ms. Walker provided the Court with proof of employment, compliance with substance abuse treatment and residency at a ½ way house. She reported to the Judge that she has a sponsor and is providing UA’s; she has abstained from the use of illegal drugs.

Rayna Nichole Thomas was granted probation in FE248420 on the charge of child endangerment. She will be on probation for two years.

On January 19, 2012, Travon Epps pled guilty in Polk County Criminal Number FECR238079 to the crimes of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Cocaine) and Assault on a Police Officer. Sentencing was set for a later date. The defendant is being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

State of Iowa v. Bryan Breheny – FECR248269 – This defendant was sentenced after pleading guilty in December to Theft in the First Degree, a Class C felony. The court reviewed the presentence investigation report provided by the Department of Corrections and heard recommendations from both the State and the defendant. The court granted the defendant a deferred judgment, placed him on three years of supervised probation by the Department of Corrections and ordered him to pay full restitution. The defendant was also ordered to pay a civil penalty in the amount of $1,000 and comply with any other terms and conditions as provided by the probation department.

State of Iowa v. Daniel Binder – FECR249830 – This defendant was sentenced after pleading guilty in December to Theft in the Second Degree, a Class D felony. The court reviewed the presentence investigation report provided by the Department of Corrections and heard recommendations from the State and the defendant. The court granted the defendant a deferred judgment, placed him on two years of supervised probation by the Department of Corrections, and ordered him to pay restitution in the amount of $9,000. The defendant was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $750 and comply with any other terms and conditions as required by the Department of Corrections.

State of Iowa v. Anthony Bonner – FECR249787 - This defendant was sentenced after pleading guilty in December to Fraudulent Practices in the Second Degree, a Class D felony. The court reviewed the presentence investigation report provided by the Department of Corrections and heard recommendations from the State and the defendant. The court granted the defendant a deferred judgment, placed him on two years of supervised probation by the Department of Corrections, and ordered him to pay restitution. The defendant was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $750 and comply with any other terms and conditions as required by the Department of Corrections.

State of Iowa v. Valerie Stewart – FECR249586 - This defendant was sentenced after pleading guilty in December to Forgery, a Class D felony. The court reviewed the presentence investigation report provided by the Department of Corrections and heard recommendations from the State and the defendant. The court granted the defendant a deferred judgment, placed him on two years of supervised probation by the Department of Corrections, and ordered him to pay restitution. The defendant was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $750 and comply with any other terms and conditions as required by the Department of Corrections.

State of Iowa v. Barbara Singh – FECR250510 – This defendant plead guilty to Theft in the Third Degree, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, and admitted claiming rebates from her employer, Menards, that she was not entitled to. The defendant was granted a deferred judgment and placed on one year of supervised probation and ordered to pay restitution to Menards. The defendant also was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $625 and comply with any other terms and conditions as provided by the Department of Corrections.

On January 19, 2012, Gregg Quigley was sentenced to prison for Burglary in the 3rd Degree. The Court further ordered that the defendant pay restitution. Bond on appeal was set at $10,000 cash only.

On January 19, 2012, Latrice Hunter pled guilty to Theft in the 1st Degree. Ms. Hunter waived time before sentencing and agreed that the Court sentence her to prison for a term not to exceed 10 years.

On January 19, 2012, Tyler Small was sentenced to prison for Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree and Child Endangerment, for sodomizing and assaulting a two year old baby. At sentencing, Mr. Small denied that he committed these crimes, but claimed he had no chance at trial. The Court stated “I think the reason you had no chance is because the evidence was absolutely overwhelming against you, and I think you realize that. I think you’re in complete denial about this, and it’s obvious to everyone, except yourself, that you did this and you have a serious—you know, calling it serious is an understatement—problem. This is a vicious crime against a helpless baby.” The Court sentenced the defendant to 25 years in prison. Tyler Small will be required to serve 70% of that sentence (17.5 years in prison) before he is eligible for parole. After he is released from prison, the defendant will be required to serve a life time special sentence of supervision by the Department of Corrections.

On January 20, 2012, Aichia Levy pled guilty in Polk County Criminal Number FECR250813 to the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Heroin). Sentencing was set for a later date. The defendant is being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On January 20, 2012, Defendant Timothy Rios, entered a plea of guilty to the charge of: Possession of a Controlled Substance Third Offense, to wit: methamphetamine, as alleged in the Trial Information, a Class D Felony, in violation of Iowa Code Section(s) 124.401(5). Defendant Sean King, was sentenced to a period of incarceration not to exceed 5 years for the charge of: Possession of a Controlled Substance Third Offense, to wit: methamphetamine, as alleged in the Trial Information, a Class D Felony, in violation of Iowa Code Section(s) 124.401(5). Timothy Rios was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
