Ramiro Dominquez Torres pled guilty to Forgery as an aggravated misdemeanor in FE236873
for being in possession of a forged permanent resident alien card. The Defendant
was granted with the expectation that he would be deported on the ICE hold current
in place.
Justin Bensley pled guilty to Burglary 3rd Degree after breaking into Rusty’s Lounge
when it was closed with the intent to steal liquor. Sentencing was set out until
August 19, 2010 to allow the Department of Corrections to complete a Pre-Sentence
Investigation Report. At sentencing, the parties are expected to request the Court
grant Bensley a Deferred Judgment.
Dustin Bean was sentenced this date to reside at the Honors Program at the Fort
Des Moines Facility. The Defendant pled guilty to Possession of Burglary Tools and
stipulated to violating the terms and conditions of his probation. Bean successfully
complete a residential treatment program and will begin employment and aftercare
upon his transfer to the Honors Program.
Marcus Alan Johnson pled guilty and was sentenced in FE236292 on the charge of Willful
Injury causing Bodily Injury, a lesser offense of that originally charged for his
role in a stabbing assault of Ralph Bullard. The Defendant waived further time and
requested immediate sentence. The Court sentenced the Defendant to a period of incarceration
not to exceed five (5) years.
Amanda Dawn Logan pled guilty to Theft 2nd Degree for presenting a forged check
to her bank for deposit and then drawing money on the account. Sentencing was set
out to August 17, 2010 to allow the Department of Corrections to complete a Pre-Sentence
Investigation Report. At the time of sentencing, the parties will recommend Logan
receive a Deferred Judgment.
Clifford Rice, Jr. was sentenced to prison in Polk County Criminal Number FECR2335567
for a period not to exceed 15 years for the crime of Conspiracy to Manufacture a
Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine as a Habitual Offender; for a period not
to exceed 5 years for the crime of Possession of Ephedrine or Pseudoephedrine with
Intent it be Used to Manufacture a Controlled Substance; and for a period not to
exceed 5 years for the crime of Possession of Lithium with Intent it be Used to
Manufacture a Controlled Substance. The defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County
Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
Michelle Mireles a/k/a Lewis was sentenced in Polk County Criminal Number FECR235406
for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver - Cocaine
Salt Hyrdochloride. The Court granted Michelle Mireles a/k/a Lewis a deferred judgment
and placed her on probation for a period of 5 years. The defendant was prosecuted
by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
Melissa Corbin pled guilty in Polk County Criminal Number FECR234147 to the crimes
of Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Susbtance
with Intent to Deliver, and Failure to Possess a Tax Stamp. Sentencing was set for
a later date. The defendant is being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office
Drug and Gang Bureau.
On July 6, 2010, Robert Clarey pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault. Clarey received a deferred judgment and was assessed a $65.00 civil penalty. Clarey was placed on probation for 1 year and required to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and complete the 24 week Batterer's Education Program.
On July 6, 2010, Sydney Elise Anderson pled guilty to Assault. Anderson was placed on probation for 1 year and fined $65.00. Anderson was required to participate in the Assaultive Behavior Class, obtain a substance abuse evaluation, and abide by a 5 year No-Contact Order.
On July 6, 2010, William Julius Miller, Sr. pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury and False Imprisonment. Miller was ordered to serve 29 days in jail and then placed on probation for 2 years. Miller was fined $940.00 and required to obtain a psychological evaluation and complete the 24 week Batterer's Education Program.
On July 6, 2010, Allen James Bush pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury. Bush received a deferred judgment and was assessed a $315.00 civil penalty. Bush was placed on probation for 1 year and required to complete 40 hours of community service. Bush was required to complete the 24 week Batterer's Education Program and abide by a 5 year No-Contact Order.
