On August 9th, 2011, Darnell Browder Fe243864 entered a guilty plea to the offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance-cocaine salt hydrochloride, as alleged in Count I of the Trial Information, in violation of Iowa Code Sections 124.401(1)( c )(2)(b) and/or 124.401(1)( c )(2)(d), a Class C Felony, as a Second or Subsequent Offender, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.411. On November 21st, 2011, he came before the court for sentencing. Both parties recommended a Fifteen (15) year prison sentence. The Court agreed with the recommendation of the parties and sentenced him to prison for fifteen (15) years. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
Anthony Patton stipulated he violated the terms and conditions of his probation by using K2, an illegal substance. He was continued on probation after being found in contempt. He will remain in jail pending a return placement at the Fort Des Moines Facility. He is on probation for Theft.
Jodi Thompson was granted a deferred judgment in FE247117 on the charge of forgery. She admitted she had forged checks belonging to her parents to support a prescription drug addiction. She will be required to continue to reside at the House of Mercy and participate in treatment as a condition of her two year probation.

On August 18, 2011, Defendant David Glenn, entered a plea of guilty to the charges of: Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver – 2 Counts, as alleged in the Trial Information, each a Class D Felony, in violation of Iowa Code Section(s) 124.401(1)(d). On November 22, 2011, Defendant David Glenn, was sentenced to a period of incarceration not to exceed 5 years each for the charges of: Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver – 2 Counts, as alleged in the Trial Information, each a Class D Felony, in violation of Iowa Code Section(s) 124.401(1)(d). The sentences shall run concurrent and a prison sentence is imposed. David Glenn was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On November 23rd, 2011, Brent Tingley FE249258 pled guilty to the offense of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, as a lesser included offense of Count II of the Trial Information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)( c )(6), a Class C Felony and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, as alleged in Count III of the Trial Information, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)( c )(6), a Class C Felony. The Defendant waived time and notice and requested immediate sentencing. Both parties recommended a twenty (20) year suspended sentence and probation. The Court agreed with the recommendation and sentenced him to prison for twenty (20) years, but suspended the sentence and placed him on probation. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On November 23, 2011, Howard E. Nelson appeared in Polk County District Court in criminal number FE 249418. Nelson pleaded guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver (marijuana) and Failure to Possess a Tax Stamp. Nelson will be sentenced in January of 2012. Nelson is being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
On November 23, 2011, Jonah J. Wright appeared in Polk County District Court in criminal number FE 249591 and pleaded guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent to Deliver (cocaine base “crack”) and Child Endangerment. Wright will be sentenced in January of 2012. Wright is being prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
On November 23, 2011, Angela Shatzer appeared in Polk County District Court in criminal number FE 249602 and entered and Alford plea to the crime of Child Endangerment. Shatzer was granted a two year suspended prison sentence and placed on probation. Shatzer was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
