WEEKLY CASE SUMMARY
06/16/2008 Darwin Dean Stinson, FECR200734, came before the court for a probation violation hearing. The Court revoked his probation and imposed the original five year prison sentence for the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver-marijuana, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(1)(d), a Class D Felony. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

On April 28th, 2008, Tonia Govan, SRCR218272, pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, Third Offense, in violation of Iowa Code Section 124.401(5), a Class D Felony. On June 16th, 2008, this case came before the court for sentencing. The State of Iowa argued for a 5 year suspended sentence and probation with the applicable $750.00 fine. The defense argued for a deferred judgment and probation. The Court granted a deferred judgment and placed her on probation for two years with the applicable $750.00 civil penalty. This case was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

Paul Jensen was sentenced to prison in Polk County Criminal Number FECR217919 for a period not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver – Methamphetamine and to prison in Polk County Criminal Number SRCR218011 for a period not to exceed one year and two years for the crimes of Possession of a Controlled Substance (2nd Offense) – Marijuana and Possession of a Controlled Substance (2nd Offense) - Methamphetamine. The Court ordered all the sentences to be served consecutively for an effective prison term not to exceed 13 years. The defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

Clifton Edward Scott was found guilty to a jury of Conspiracy to Deliver More than Fifty Kilograms of Marijuana while in the Immediate Possession or Control of a Firearm and guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance on April 17, 2008 in Polk County Criminal Case number FECR214905. On June 16, 2008, the defendant was sentenced to a mandatory twenty years prison for these offenses. This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney's Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

06/20/2008 Matthew Bullard FECR218601 was sentenced for Theft in the Second Degree. The Court granted him a suspended sentence and probation. He was ordered to pay full restitution, complete 100 hours of community service, maintain full time employment and complete cognitive skills group and/or one to one counseling for communication skills/self awareness.

Vincent Parlow FECR218851 was sentenced for two counts of Forgery. The Court sentenced him to prison for a term not to exceed five years.

Christopher Weber FECR218621 was sentenced to probation for Theft in the Second Degree.
