WEEKLY CASE SUMMARY
08/18/2008 Raphael Davenport was sentenced to prison in Polk County Criminal Number FECR214070 for a period not to exceed 10 years for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver - Crack Cocaine. The Court revoked the probation previously granted to the defendant. The defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.

Joseph Cox, who was originally sentenced to prison on a Theft 1st, was reconsidered today and will be placed on probation.

Michael Bassford was sentenced to the Fort Des Moines Facility for failure to comply with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

Ray Curtis Schrier was sentenced to the Fort Des Moines Facility on charges of Burglary Third and Assault with Intent to Inflict Serious Injury.

Saul Ariciaga entered an Alford plea to Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree and is mandated by the Court to abide by all deportation requirements.

Jamie Kruse plead guilty to neglecting her daughter, a dependent person. Both parties agreed that Ms. Kruse would be sentenced to prison.

08/19/2008 Vernica Flores plead guilty to Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and was granted a deferred judgment. Restitution was ordered for the victim of the crime.

08/21/2008 Kevin Tillotson appeared in Polk County District Court to answer to allegations that he violated his probation in Polk County Criminal Number FE 191184. Tillotson was on probation for a felony drug charge after having his original prison sentence reconsidered. Because Tillotson had multiple violations of his probation and had been absent from supervision since October of 2007, the State recommended his probation be revoked and he be sent back to prison. District Court Judge Carla Schemmel continued Tillotson on probation and allowed him to attend a residential treatment facility. Tillotson is to remain in jail until there is space in the treatment facility. Tillotson was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
