Looking for an excuse to get out of the house, make some new friends, enjoy a good meal, and learn about the exciting world of nature? Then join us! These programs are held the first Tuesday of each month. The nature program will start at 11:00 a.m. at the Jester Park Lodge. An optional luncheon follows the program at noon in which pre-registration is required. The cost of the catered lunch from The Radish is $9.00. Luncheon registration is due May 2. John Swanson, Outreach Coordinator for the Easter Lake and Big Creek Lake Watershed Projects, will discuss the issues our lakes are facing along with the conservation efforts taking place to improve water quality and soil health.  The Easter Lake and Big Creek Projects are excellent examples of what must be done to protect and improve Iowa’s lakes and streams.  Upcoming renovations at Easter Lake will be covered along with the success stories and challenges of promoting conservation around Big Creek Lake.  Listeners will also learn how they can do their part to improve water quality by “rainscaping” their property to naturally manage stormwater.
