Mainframe Development

The primary mission of the Mainframe development staff is to enhance and maintain the County's property tax systems on behalf of the Treasurer and Auditor's staff. There are five distinct property tax types:

  • Real Estate
  • Special Assessments
  • Mobile Home
  • Utility/Miscellaneous
  • Excise

Each system has components for tax calculation, collection and balancing of moneys, and apportionment of those moneys to the various taxing authorities in Polk County. Approximately $650 million dollars pass through these tax systems on an annual basis.

There are several key events that occur throughout each year. The mainframe staff is heavily involved in managing these processes.
