New Declaration Of Value Form

The Iowa Department of Revenue released a new Declaration of Value (DOV) Form on July 23, 2014.  This form will be required for all real estate transactions on or before September 1, 2014.  To get the new form click on the gray "Forms" tab on the menu above.

The Polk County Recorder's Office contains valuable information concerning your home, family, business and recreation. The Recorder's Office maintains all official real estate documents and provides retrieval and reproduction of these records for the public and businesses.

Meet the Recorder

Julie Haggerty was sworn into office in January 2007.  She is a life-long resident of Polk County, attended Dowling High School and Arizona State University.  She is a 2008 graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.

Since taking office, Haggerty has extended her office hours and established a same-day recording policy.   As an elected official, she has been given the opportunity to serve residents of Polk County in many ways.   When Homeland Security established new laws requiring passports for travel to Mexico and Canada, she brought services to the citizens of Polk County by launching Passport Saturdays in libraries, senior centers and even opened her Read More....

The mission of the Polk County Recorder's Office is to preserve and provide for the public a true and reliable, readily accessible, permanent account of real property and other official records and vital human events, both historic and current, and to do so with commitment, courtesy, and excellence.
