ANOTHER EARLY MORNING FIRE AT SAME LOCATION DESTROYS BARN

The barn at 13112 NW 138th Avenue burned to the ground this morning around 3:30 a.m. Fire Departments from Madrid, Polk City, and Granger responded, as well as a Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy. These events are being investigated by both Polk County Sheriff’s Detectives and the local Fire Departments.

A fire destroyed a house south of Madrid this morning. Fire crews from Madrid, Polk City, and Woodward were called at approximately 6:00 a.m. today to respond to a fire on NW 138th Avenue, just east of Highway 17. Upon arrival, they began to fight the flames which had fully engulfed the abandoned house at 13112 NW 138th Avenue.
Firefighters continued to extinguish hot spots until about 8:30 a.m. and indicated that there were no obvious signs of the fire’s source. Polk County Sheriff’s Detectives and the State Fire Marshal were notified of the incident due to its suspicious nature.
