Mary Maloney has served as Polk County Treasurer since 1989, currently elected to her 5th Term.
A 1977 Graduate of Iowa State University with a Degree in Economics, Mrs. Maloney brought a Financial and Computer Background in Business to Polk County.
Significant Technological changes have been made to the office in the last fourteen years; the Treasurer received an “Innovations in Government Award" in 1997 for many of these improvements. Mary recently kicked-off an eGovernment initiative in 2002, during her presidency of ISCTA, which received two national awards.
She and her husband Peter and two children are Des Moines residents.
