Des Moines, Iowa – Polk County is implementing new security measures at the Polk County Administration Building (111 Court Ave.) starting Monday June 5th. Those with business in the administration building will now be asked to enter only on the south-west side of the building facing Court Ave. and 2nd Ave in Des Moines. Other building entrances, including those on the north side of the Polk County Administration Building and the skywalk entrance over 2nd Ave. will now be closed to public entrance.
The change to a single public entrance is similar to those found in most public and private buildings, including the State Capitol, Federal and State Judicial Buildings and the Polk County Courthouse. Guests visiting the offices in the Polk County Administration building should expect no change in daily services.
It is recommended that those with appointments inside the Polk County Administration Building arrive 10 minutes prior to an appointment.. Note: Please see attached image/map of visitor entrance location.
