Jill Altringer grew up in Northwest Iowa and has called Polk County home since 2001, following her graduation from the University of Iowa. With a strong dedication to public service, Jill served on the Grimes City Council for 16 years, contributing her leadership to a variety of regional boards and commissions, including the Metro Advisory Committee, DART, Bravo, and MPO. In 2017, she was appointed to the Polk County Conservation Board, where she served as Chair until her election to the Polk County Board of Supervisors.
Jill’s extensive background in business and law underscores her commitment to making a meaningful impact on her community. She earned both her undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry and her law degree from the University of Iowa.
Jill is married to Kirk, and together they have four children. As an outdoor enthusiast, she cherishes spending time with her family, enjoying activities like biking, water sports, and participating in RAGBRAI annually since 1999.
