Mobile Food Pantries

Polk County partners with the Food Bank of Iowa and the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) to bring the mobile food pantry to several Polk County Community Centers throughout Des Moines.  Once per calendar month, individuals and families in Polk County can receive a three-day supply of healthy, nutritional food and other essential non-food items.  Food is distributed solely to those in need without income being a consideration.

Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the arrival of the mobile food pantry at Polk County's Community Centers has been reduced to Wednesday only from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at the Norwoodville Community Center, 3077 NE 46th Ave in Des Moines.

Please visit the DMARC website for additional mobile food pantry locations.

Please Note: The DMARC Mobile Food Pantries are operating under alternative food pantry distribution methods due to COVID-19. Please check our COVID-19 page for the latest updates and be sure to call ahead before visiting a pantry.
