National Trails Day

Make your mark on 1 of nearly 200,000 miles of trail throughout the U.S. this National Trails Day! Polk County Conservation and the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation invites you, your friends, and family out for a day of volunteerism and celebration in support of our treasured public trails.
Volunteers will lend a hand maintaining the trails in Easter Lake Park before gathering for an afternoon of food, fun, and community.
ACTIVITY: Trail Maintenance
PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY: Moderate, Difficult
DEADLINE: Register by noon June 2, 2022
COST: Free
GROUPS ALLOWED: Yes
LUNCH PROVIDED: Yes. Lunch with be provided for registered participants
AGES: All ages and abilities welcome. No experience necessary.
Ages 12+ will be permitted use of hand tools.
Ages 18+ will be permitted use of power tools and equipment.
Each event participant will be provided proper personal protective equipment and training as needed.
WHAT TO BRING: It is recommended to dress for the weather, wear closed-toe shoes. Bring a refillable water bottle and work gloves if you have them.
