Trail Work Underway at Brown's Woods, Easter Lake Park, & Yellow Banks Park

Park and trail users are asked to respect trail closures and barriers at the following Polk County Conservation parks/trails during the month of January and possibly into the beginning of February, as heavy equipment to improve these areas will be in use:

  • Brown’s Woods
  • Easter Lake Park
  • Yellow Banks Park

Brown’s Woods & Yellow Banks Park

Polk County Conservation staff will be running a forestry mower at Brown’s Woods and Yellow Banks Park during the month of January and possibly into February. Park users are asked to respect all signage and trail closures, as the mower can throw debris when in use.

Easter Lake Park

The Easter Lake Park North Shore Restoration has begun this week (1/3/2022). Contractors will be in this area with heavy equipment during the month of January. Sections of the trail will be closed and clearly marked with signage and barrier fencing. Park and trail users are asked to respect closures and signage for their safety. Please do NOT walk around barriers or approach heavy equipment – it is very dangerous to enter a work site. Work is anticipated to be completed in this area by the end of January/early February.
