National Trails Day

National Trails Day at Jester Park

Location: Jester Park Amphitheater

Make your mark on 1 of nearly 200,000 miles of trail throughout the U.S. this National Trails Day! Polk County Conservation, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation and REI West Des Moines invite you, your friends, and family out to Jester Park for an afternoon and evening of volunteerism and celebration in support of our treasured public trails. Volunteers will lend a hand maintaining the trails at Jester in the afternoon followed by an evening of local food, Iowa Trail Ale from Peace Tree Brewing Company, live local music, yard games, door prizes, and more. 

 *All activities, food, brews and fun are free for registered volunteers. Camping will also be made available for participants at Jester Park Camp Area #5. REGISTER AT www.rei.com/learn TODAY!

 

 Schedule of Events:

 12 - 1 p.m.  Sign in and safety talk 

 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Trail maintenance

 4:45 p.m.  Tap the keg (sponsored by Peace Tree Brewing Co.), door prizes (must be present to win)

 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  Band takes the stage. Food and yard games expect s’mores and good times.
