Mandujano Plea

On August 18, 2021, Malik Tyrone Mandujano pled guilty to the crimes of Murder in the Second Degree, Theft in the First Degree and two counts of Intimidation With a Dangerous Weapon, in case numbers FECR314249, FECR309758, FECR309757 and FECR303189.  He will be sentenced on October 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. and faces a maximum indeterminate term of incarceration of fifty (50) years with a mandatory seven-tenths he must serve prior to becoming eligible for parole, ten (10) years, ten (10) years with a mandatory minimum term of five years he must serve prior to becoming eligible for parole and ten (10) years with a mandatory minimum term of five years he must serve prior to becoming eligible for parole, for a total maximum indeterminate term of eighty (80) years with a mandatory minimum term of forty-five (45) years he must serve prior to becoming eligible for parole.  Mandujano shot and killed Noah Campbell in 2017 near the Valero gas station on the east side of Des Moines.  This defendant was prosecuted by the Polk County Attorney’s Office Drug and Gang Bureau.
