College Internships

THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED AND THE POLK COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE IS NOW ACCEPTING THE STUDENT INTERNS ONCE AGAIN.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office participates with local colleges and Polk County residents in a Student Internship Program.  This program coincides with the Sheriff's philosophy that education is an important aspect of professional law enforcement. 

The internship program includes all the divisions of the Polk County Sheriff's Office.  The program gives the intern an overall view of the Sheriff's office and provides insight into other areas of the criminal justice system. 

Internships with Polk County provide a unique opportunity to gain a broad perspective of the criminal justice system that isn't provided by any other agency.  Interest in our internship program may be directed to our Training Division at (515) 875-5628 or at polkcounty.sheriff@polkcountyiowa.gov
