Polk County Health Partners Requires Patients and Visitors to Wear Masks

(Des Moines, IA) – The Polk County Medical Coordination Center is requiring all patients and visitors who are coming into hospitals and clinics to wear masks or homemade face cloths for appointments or visiting patients. This proactive measure is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 to patients, visitors and the community.

Facemasks and cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, on anyone who has trouble breathing, or anyone who is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

If you are able to donate homemade cloth masks to our hospital and clinic partners, please visit our website at Polk County Health Department for drop off locations and times.

For COVID-19 information, please visit the Polk County Health Department’s COVID-19 website.
