Free Community Meal and Resource Fair

We are kicking off Welcoming Week with a free community meal and resource fair. Stop by Polk County River Place on September 10, from 2PM-5PM and enjoy some free food, music, games and more.

Polk County is partnering with the African American Leadership Academy to foster belonging in Polk County, Iowa.  What better way to do that then having a free meal together! We hope this events brings people together from all different backgrounds to enjoy local food and also learn about the resources available to everyone who lives, works and plays in Polk County.

Welcoming Week is an initiative created by Welcoming America, a nonprofit leading a movement of inclusive communities becoming more prosperous by ensuring everyone belongs, including immigrants.  The theme this year is Where We Belong
