No Roads Leads to Buxton - Traveling Exhibit

Three retractable banners on the floor of the Polk County Administration Building that say, 'No Roads Lead to Buxton', 'Life & Work in Buxton', and 'End of The Line.'

Are you interested in Iowa history? Stop by the Polk County Administration building to learn more about Buxton, IA, an early 20th century coal-mining town once referred to as “the Black man’s utopia in Iowa.”

Thank you to the African American Museum of Iowa for providing Polk County with this traveling exhibit.  The exhibit will be on display on the first floor of the Administration building until the end of March.
