Sheriff’s Office precautions for the Covid-19 Pandemic
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office continues to evaluate the Covid-19 Pandemic and prepare for the effects in our area. The Polk County Jail is continuing with aggressive sanitation efforts and screening persons that are presented with the guidance from the Polk County Health Department.
The lobby of the Polk County Jail will now be closed to the public, including professionals until further notice. In an effort to maintain visitation for those that are incarcerated, visitors are asked to utilize the I-web visitation service available online. The Sheriff’s Office is working with our venders to provide up to, two free online visits each week utilizing I-web visit. Professional visits will be conducted in the same manor or over the phone.
The lobby of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Headquarters located at 6023 NE 14th Street will be closed to the public until further notice. Members of the public that are seeking weapon permits can utilize the online service to complete applications and upload any necessary documents. The link to this service can be found on the Polk County Sheriff’s Office web site. Persons seeking an impound releases for vehicles can still come to Sheriff’s Office Headquarters, and will be assisted there on a case by case need.
