Polk County Treasurer’s Office Hours have Changed

New hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Hours of operation for the Polk County Treasurer’s Office are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for all services effective June 3, 2024. Customers are encouraged to make note of this change.

With this change, the department will be able to offer more customer appointments and serve customers more timely and efficiently. In addition, the hours of operation better align with the entities the Treasurer’s Office works with including other Polk County departments, Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa Department of Revenue.

An appointment is required for all title transfers. Yet, customers are encouraged to make an appointment for all services. To schedule an appointment, go to www.polkcountyiowa.gov/treasurer/appointments.

Customers are also encouraged to check the department’s website for service information before visiting the office. Payments for vehicle tags and property taxes can be made online. It’s easy, convenient and secure. To make an online payment, go to www.polkcountyiowa.gov/treasurer.

Polk County Treasurer’s Office will continue to open at 9:00 a.m. on the third Thursday of the month.
