Air Quality Awareness Week Contest!

Air Quality Awareness Week highlights resources that increase air quality awareness and encourages people to take action and incorporate air quality knowledge into their daily living. The Polk County Air Quality Department would like to invite all 6th-12th grade science classrooms within Polk County to participate in a poster presentation contest on the importance of Air Quality. The winners will win a cash prize for their classroom! 

This year's Air Quality Awareness theme is "Knowing Your Air." 

AQAW 2024 daily topics:

  • Monday, May 6 - Wildland Fires and Smoke
  • Tuesday, May 7 - Asthma and Your Health
  • Wednesday, May 8 - Air Quality and Climate
  • Thursday, May 9 - Air Quality and Environmental Justice
  • Friday, May 10 - Air, Animals, and Plants 

Posters must be submitted by Friday, May 10th at 4:00PM. Winners will be announced on Monday, May 20th.
