May '24 Lunch & Learn: Safely Responding Around Tuberculosis & Other Communicable Diseases

Polk County Emergency Management is pleased to partner with the Polk County Communicable Disease Team to provide training and education on public health efforts to support health care providers and first responders, while controlling the spread of communicable diseases, in particular, Tuberculosis.

The objectives of this Lunch & Learn include:

  • Overview of public health efforts to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases and how we work with healthcare providers and responders.
  • Increase knowledge of latent and active Tuberculosis, including transmission, signs/symptoms, prevention, and protection.
  • Address common myths and misconceptions related to Tuberculosis transmission.
  • When and how to communicate with the Polk County Health Department Communicable Disease Team.
