Polk County Treasurer’s Office Hours to Change

Effective June 3, 2024, hours will be 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Hours of operation for the Polk County Treasurer’s Office will change to 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. effective June 3, 2024 for all services. Customers are encouraged to make note of this change.

“Our goal is to serve customers as quickly as possible,” said Mary L. Wells, Polk County Treasurer. “Adjusting our hours will help staff serve our customers more timely and efficiently.”

“With this change, we’ll be able to offer more customer appointments. In addition, our hours of operation will better align with the entities we work with, including other Polk County departments, Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa Department of Revenue,” said Wells.

An appointment is required for all title transfers. Yet, customers are encouraged to make an appointment for all services. To schedule a title transfer appointment, go to www.polkcountyiowa.gov/treasurer/appointments.

Customers are encouraged to check the department’s website for service information before visiting the office. Payments for vehicle tags and property taxes can be made online. It’s easy, convenient and secure. To make an online payment, go to www.polkcountyiowa.gov/treasurer.

Polk County Treasurer’s Office will continue to observe the 9:00 a.m. open time on the third Thursday of the month.
