Mary L. Wells

Polk County Treasurer Mary L. Wells was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University cum laude in business administration, majoring in management.

For more than 20 years, Mary has held leadership positions in operations management, managing business operations for three Fortune 100 companies. Her career has provided extensive experience in leadership, administration, strategic operations, technology, process improvement and communications.

A veteran of the National Guard, Mary is also very dedicated to the Des Moines community. She is the co-founder and president of Investing In My Future, Inc., a member of the Des Moines Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc., a member of the Des Moines branch of the NAACP, and a member of Corinthian Baptist Church.
