Financial Empowerment Center Home

Polk County Iowa in partnership with the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund) and the Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families is now providing one-on-one financial counseling to Polk County residents as a free public service. Highly trained counselors are available to help residents develop plans to reduce debt increase savings, improve credit scores, access banking and achieve personal goals.  


The Polk County Financial Empowerment Center and Neighborhood Finance Corporation present a live event – Journey to Home Ownership – focusing on home ownership for African American Households.

If you’ve dreamed about owning a home, but don’t know where to start or feel it is unattainable, our new Journey to Homeownership (J2H) initiative can help you make your dream a reality. J2H offers support to African Americans looking to become homeowners by not only providing tools, resources, and information about the process but also a down payment assistance program.
