Centralized Intake

Centralized Intake Center

On a 24-hour basis, staff conduct an initial screening, and Juvenile Court makes decisions about the placement of youth. Placements may include detention, shelter care, or home with appropriate service referrals.

Parents/Guardians are not permitted to admit their child to Detention by bringing them to the Centralized Intake Center.  If your child has broken the law, call 911 for assistance. This does not mean that your child will be detained. The Central Intake Officer with Juvenile Court will review all pertinent information and make a determination in the best interest of the youth and their family.

If you have been notified by law enforcement that your child was brought to the Centralized Intake Center, please call 515-286-3350.

"The Centralized Intake Center provides peace officers a single point of entry for at-risk juveniles to assess their legitimate needs and facilitate appropriate action."
