Leadership - AmeriCorps

APPLY TO BE A CREW LEADER TODAY!

Spend your summer outside and inspire youth through environmental stewardship projects. Together with a fellow crew leader, you will supervise, mentor, and inspire a crew of 10 teens. Gain experience in habitat restoration, trail maintenance, environmental education, and outdoor skill instruction.

Learn how to manage projects and crew safety. Use your hands, and motivate a team to help public land. Network with Naturalists and Natural Resources staff to build connections for your future.

Spring - Fall Crew Leaders (ages 18+) - Americorps

One Crew Leader will serve as AmeriCorps members and develop skills that build a strong, leadership-packed résumé, earn a living stipend of $8,470 total and receive a Segal Education Award upon completion of $3,172.50 total to pay for higher education or qualified student loans. All positions are half time members who will serve a minimum of 900 hours from March 15, 2024 - October 31, 2024. Typical hours during the spring crew will be Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and three Saturdays. Summer crew hours will be 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Fall crews will follow the same work schedule as spring crews. The program will require two-night camping trips for all crews. Lodging may be available if needed.

Summer Crew Leaders (ages 18+) - AmeriCorps

Three Crew Leaders will serve as AmeriCorps members and develop skills that build a strong, leadership-packed résumé, earn a living stipend of $4500 total and receive a Segal Education Award upon completion of $1718 to pay for higher education or qualified student loans. All positions are quarter time members who will serve a minimum of 450 hours over 12 weeks, from May 15th -Aug. 15, 2024. Typical hours will be Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The program will require two-night camping trips in June and July. Lodging may be available if needed.
