Title Transfers by Appointment Only - January 1

(Des Moines, IA)- Polk County Treasurer Mary L. Wells announced today that vehicle Title Transfers will be handled by appointment-only, effective January 1, 2023.
“We know that time is a valuable resource and are excited to provide an easy and convenient process for advance scheduling by appointment-only, at a time that works for Polk County citizens. Scheduling appointments online or by phone will reduce time spent waiting in our office.”
The Polk County Treasurer’s Office remains committed to providing an exceptional experience for all customers. Kicking off a new year with an improved scheduling process will ensure a quick visit for those who need to complete transactions in-person.
Treasurer Wells reminds residents that they may continue to schedule appointments for all other services. Additionally, payments for vehicle renewals and property taxes may be made online at iowataxandtags.org.
