Where are you located?

The Recorder's office is located in the Polk County Administrative Building, 111 Court Ave, Ste 250, Des Moines, IA 50309 (2nd & Court Ave). 

What are your hours of business?

We are open 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday thru Friday. Passports are by appointment only (Our last Passport appointment of the day is at 3:30pm). For more information call 515-286-3160.

How long does it take to get a passport?

Processing times can vary depending on workload and occasional unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters. During busier times, such as the summer travel season, we encourage customers to expedite their applications if traveling in less than 6 weeks. See processing times for more information.
