THE SKATEPARK CABINET AND CALIFORNIA SKATEPARKS COLLABORATED TO CREATE A WORLD-CLASS SKATEPARK IN DES MOINES THAT IS THE LARGEST OPEN SKATEPARK IN THE NATION, TOTALING MORE THAN 88,000 SQ. FT.

The Lauridsen Skatepark was created with our community in mind, to provide fun and challenging opportunities for skateboarders and spectators alike.

Designed by California Skateparks, the Lauridsen Skatepark is an attractive extension of the city’s beautiful Principal Riverwalk.

Polk County Conservation, manager of the Lauridsen Skatepark, along with Catch Des Moines (the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau), Skate DSM (local non-profit), Subsect (local skateboard shop), and Polk County Iowa are excited to bring this new recreational, opportunity to Des Moines.
