Civilian Intake Program

The Civilian Intake Division works with citizens who believe a crime has been committed against them. Often, citizens requesting assistance from the Restorative Justice Center have already notified the appropriate law enforcement agency who, for a variety of reasons, have not filed a criminal charge against the suspect. Those agencies have referred the citizen to our office for additional review of their case.

A citizen may fill out a complaint form in our office and be interviewed by a legal assistant. The citizen is asked to provide as much detailed information as possible concerning not only the incident which occurred, but about the suspect as well. After all necessary documentation has been collected by the legal staff, the evidence is reviewed by an Assistant County Attorney who determines what action, if any, may be taken by our office to assist the citizen.
