Replacement of Registration and/or Validation Sticker
Contact the vehicle line at: 515.286.3030 to process your request for a replacement registration and/or validation sticker
- You must have the license plate number(s) of the vehicle(s) you need replacements for in order to complete your request.
Replacement Fee: $3
Replacement of Standard Issue (Non-Personalized/Special) Plates
Transactions for the replacement of standard issue (non-personalized or special) plates can be completed at the Treasurer's Office
- You will need:
- Any remaining license plate(s) on the vehicle(s) to be surrendered at the time of your visit
- Replacement Fee
Replacement Fee: $5
Replacement of Special/Personalized Plates
Requests for replacement special/personalized plates can be completed through the Treasurer's Office. The replacement plates requested must be the same as the originally issued plates (if not, additional fees apply).
- Complete and e-mail the Application for Iowa Replacement Plate to: car.treasurer@polkcountyiowa.gov
- Call our vehicle line at: 515.286.3030 to make your payment and finalize your request.
- You will be notified when your plates arrive and are available for pick up
- Any remaining license plate(s) on the vehicle(s) must be surrendered to the Treasurer's Office when you pick up your replacement plates
